bottom fishing in Hawaii?
Does any one have any good info. on bottom fishing charters in Hawaii.I’m planning a trip there and love to bottom fish. What species can I expect, what prices can I expect, are there allot of choices of captians? Any other info would be greatly appreciated.
bottom fishing in hawaii can be a lot of fun. even fish you normally troll for hook up. Tuna isnt too common but we have caught mahi mahi, and wahoo (ono) while bottom fishing. all kinds of snapper are around and stuff.
Depending on the charter, you will end up giving up half of the catch or sometimes, all of the catch. But I got a few names you might be interested in. Assuming that you are going to be on OAHU… the nieghbor islands are pretty nice too but for Oahu, try calling 808-596-2998. i hear they are pretty good with catching the good fish.
Also depending on when you coming too. Whale season is here right now and restricts movement to certain areas For Fishing boats. But give em a call and have fun! get ready for some nasty fun. If you troll, you can nail some good size tuna running right now!

3D Sea Tiger – Oahu Hawaii, Waterproof Dive Site Card $9.95 The 168-foot Sea Tiger sit, is on a 130-foot bottom, where this former Hawaiian fishing vessel has become a hulking, blue-gray neighborhood for eagle rays and home to a variety of reef species, from myopic moray eels to delicate nudibranchs. One highlight to look for is the gigantic honu, or Hawaiian green sea turtle, which have taken up residence on the wreck. Upright and still very muchintact, this is one of the best wrecks in Hawaii for penetration by trained divers. For the Open Water divers, even an underwater promenade around the outside of the wreck will provide enough to see for several dives. |

Big-game fishing $43.99 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Big-game fishing, often referred to as offshore sportfishing, offshore gamefishing, or blue-water fishing is a form of recreational fishing, targeting large fish renowned for their sporting qualities, such as tuna and marlin. Big-game fishing started as a sport after the invention of the motor boat. Charles Frederick Holder, a marine biologist and early conservationist, is credited with founding the sport in 1898. He went on to publish many articles and books on the subject, noted for their combination of accurate scientific detail with exciting narratives. Purpose built game fishing boats appeared early in the 20th century. An example is the Crete, in use at Catalina Island, California, in 1915, and shipped to Hawaii the following year. According to a newspaper report at that time, the Crete had “… a deep cockpit, a chair fitted for landing big fish and leather pockets for placing the pole.” |

Common Bond $0.99 When Morgan Cary flies home to Hawaii after a decade spent in California, he arrives with a broken heart and an overwhelming sense of guilt surrounding the death of his wife. He finds his way back to the comfort of Hilo’s wet green mountain slopes, the pearl-colored volcanic haze, and the tropical perfume of gardenia, plumeria, and eucalyptus, but he also returns to the painful and persistent memories of his early days with Victoria–from the moment she walked into his life on the arm of his childhood best friend. Morgan’s ghosts are many: they appear at the docks, in the motel rooms of the Sunset Lanai, and in the Red Pants fishermen’s bar. He loses himself working alone as a commercial fishing boat captain, trolling the Pacific for yellowfin tuna and blue marlin, trying to surmount the crushing presence of his past. As he spirals further into his grief, the hope of a deliverance into the future appears through an unexpected friendship with a native Hawaiian family, and forces Morgan to sift through the worst of his memories as he searches for his life in the solace of the sea.Resonant with human emotion and insight, The Common Bond is an exquisite novel of precision and grace that captures the depths of the human capacity for guilt, and the traps of compassion and hope in redemption. |

Kona Kai a Bimini Twist Adventure $18 Kona Kai- When Max Carson agreed to have his boat, Bimini Twist, ferried over to the Hawaiian Islands on board the luxury yacht Felicity, he was expecting to enjoy the summer with his boys P.J. and Gaffer, fishing in the quiet waters off Kona, the blue marlin and yellowfin capital of the world. And in fact the fishing action was everything they expected. Mahimahi, yellowfin tuna and several varieties of marlin were their constant hook-ups in this sport fisherman’s paradise. And the new friends they meet in Kona are interesting and colorful. But even paradise can have its share of unexpected thrills and danger, and this trip to Hawaii proved that point many times. Teenagers who do stupid things, the tremendous forces of nature in the forms of erupting volcanoes, wild game fish and an angry mother humpback combine to make this a Bimini Twist Adventure to remember. |

Her keel was laid down on 4 November 1940 by the Mare Island Navy Yard in Vallejo, California. She was launched on 26 August 1941 (sponsored by Mrs. Elizabeth H. Hogan), and commissioned on 15 December 1941, with Lieutenant Commander Creed C. Burlingame (Class of 1927) in command. After shakedown off the California coast, Silversides set course for Hawaii, arriving at Pearl Harbor on 4 April 1942. Departing Pearl Harbor on 30 April, Silversides headed for the Japanese home islands, in the area of Kii Suido, for the first of her many successful war patrols. On 10 May, just after 08:00 local time, the submarine used her 3 inch gun to heavily damage a Japanese gunboat. During this 75 minute action, an enemy machine-gun bullet killed one of her deck gunners, TM3 Mike Harbin, the only man lost in action aboard “Silversides” during World War II. Harbin was buried at sea later that evening. On 13 May, Silversides fired torpedoes at an enemy submarine; although explosions were heard, a definite sinking could not be confirmed. On 17 May, while maneuvering through an enemy fishing fleet and approaching her targets, Silversides’ periscope became entangled in a fishnet marked by Japanese flags held aloft on bamboo poles. The sub continued her approach, fishnet and all, and fired three torpedoes at th… |

The Common Bond $2.99 When Morgan Cary flies home to Hawaii after a decade spent in California, he arrives with a broken heart and an overwhelming sense of guilt surrounding the death of his wife. |
